Spyro 2 Ripto's Rage! is a platform game for the PlayStation console. It was released in North America under this title on October 31, 1999, in Europe as Spyro 2: Gateway To Glimmer (Spyro 2: In search of talismans in Spain) on November 5, 1999, and in Japan on 16 March Spyro X Sparx 2000 as Tondemo Tours. Spyro 2 is the second game in the Spyro the Dragon series, which started with Spyro the Dragon in 1998. The protagonist of the series, Spyro, walking the land of Avalar rather than the Dragon Worlds, where the previous installment was established. A warlock dinosaur known as Ripto, has invaded the world of Avalar, and is wreaking havoc on the citizens with his magic. The player, as Spyro, must travel through the world of Avalar and undo the damage done by Ripto.
